Major Funding Round

The PMF Foundation offers Major Funding to not-for-profit organisations and projects with DGR1 status across four funding streams:

  1. Education & Youth

  2. Environment & Sustainability

  3. First Nations

  4. Medical Research

Funding Process

  • Complete an Expressions of Interest (EOI) for funding - open March & April. Complete form HERE.

  • Successful EOI’s are invited to complete a detailed Funding Request application in May.

  • Successful Major Funding applicants are notified in June.

Funding Assessment

  • Expression of Interest applications and Funding Request applications will be reviewed by PMF Foundation Managing Director and PMF Foundation Funding Liaison.

  • Applications will be assessed in accordance with the PMF Funding Principles.

Major Funding Guidelines

  1. Funding applicants must be endorsed as Deductible Gift Recipient 1 (DGR1) or have a confirmed auspice arrangement with an organisation that has DGR1 status. 

  2. Funding applicants (or confirmed auspice organisation) must be registered with the Australian Charities and Not-for-Profit Commission (ACNC) with current and up-to-date reporting on the ACNC register.

  3. Organisations can submit one application. 

  4. Auspice organisations are eligible to auspice one application in addition to their own application.

  5. Activities must be delivered within Australia.

  6. Funding applications must sit within one or more of the PMF Foundation’s four funding streams Education & Youth, Environment & Sustainability, First Nations, and Medical Research.

  7. Projects to be delivered within a 12-month period (from when funding is received).

  8. Applications can be submitted for funding of any amount. However, it may be worthwhile noting that the PMF Foundation on average supports projects/organisations with funding that ranges from $50,000 to $300,000.

  9. Applications of funding can be for a dedicated project or untied funding.

  10. Applications can be for 1-year, 2-year or 3-year terms.

  11. Applicants can apply for funding that support organisational activity, new and existing program delivery, new and existing projects and capacity building initiatives.

  12. Funding can be used for operational, salary and capital expenditure, or a combination of these.
